Hello everyone. I have been suffering from anxiety for 2 months now. At first I thought it was a heart attack, then a stroke. My newest fear is thinking I'm going to have a seizure at any time. I have no history of epilepsy in my family. I am a 25 year old male and haven't had a seizure ever in my life. However; these weird body zaps are strange and how I hold out my hand constantly to see if it is shaking. I've gotten looked at by my doctor and he says everything is fine. He also says it's very rare to get a seizure based on my age. Is this true ?

Can you give yourself a seizure from anxiety?
Yes, it is true.
It's anxiety which can manifest itself in all sorts of guises and bodily symptoms. Problem is, you start suffering anxiety, then that brings all the physical symptoms ie shaking, body/head zaps, chest pains, difficulty breathing, lump in throat and on and on.........then you get anxious about all these symptoms and that's when things can escalate.
You need to understand how it all works etc and the best way to do this is to educate yourself about all things anxiety!!
Please read Dr Claire Weeks books called Hope and help for your nerves.......it's an old book, but the best there is on explaining things in a simple but affective way. You can buy this book off Amazon quite cheaply..she also written a couple more but I can't remember the titles.
Hope this helps
