Healthy Anxiety - Fear of having a seizure

Hello! I'm a 26 year old who has never had a seizure in my life. My brother had one, one time due to alcohol withdrawal and ever since then I've been afraid I'm going to have a seizure. I don't drink or do drugs, I eat healthy, but I've had anxiety since I can remember. Always related to health phobias and fears, like heart attacks, strokes, blood clots, seizures and anything to do with lungs. My family is so burnt out on me having these symptoms that I can't talk to any of them about it anymore. I'm not on any medications but I do see a therapist once a week and do CBT and EMDR. I'm so tired of living in constant fear and feel like I can't focus on anything besides my anxiety and fears. I'm also terrified I'll pass out or throw up in public. Although I never have before. I'm just dying for some reassurance and a community who understands these symptoms and thoughts. They are so distressing. Any advice or ways to cope/reassure? Thanks so much in advance.

No I don't take any medicine and I never have before. But I've had anxiety for like 10 years now.

Then can I suggest you buy some magnesium glycinate. It is completely natural and needed by the body a mineral, but, it thins the blood naturally preventing heart attacks and strokes. It also helps with the nervous system and brain preventing seizures, plus it helps with anxiety and depression alot !. Start with a very small dose until you become more confident and if you don't like it, all you do is drink milk or take some calcium and it will wear off very quickly as it is it's natural antagonist. It also relaxes the lungs and heals them.

Wow, it sounds like an all around good supplement!! I'm literally heading to go get some right now. The sooner the better. Thank you for the suggestion and advice. I truly appreciate it!

Hi, I have had three alcohol withdrawal fits/seizures in 1989.

I have not drank alcohol since 1990. The reason I mention this is because I will never have fits again unless I started drinking again. I dont take anti-convulsant medication as there is no need to.

You will never have seizures because your brother had them.

I have health anxiety so I know how terrible that is. I hope life gets better for you, best wishes, m

Thank you for your reply. I’m happy to hear of your sobriety to alcohol as I’ve watched how awful it is to get sober through my brother. Who was an alcoholic and was having seizure withdrawals as well.

Thank you for your reassurance. I don’t kbow why I can’t get that image of him out of my head. I do the “what if” thing way too often, as anxiety helps with that. Haha. Thabks again and hope all is well.

Hi Winona,I just wanted to wish you all the best with your health anxiety. It is a dreadful condition to have, I know from experience! I am waiting for CBT for it. The research says that it works so I hope it works for both of us. Best wishes again, muirbabe.
