Metformin

Have anyone ever taken Metformin for highblood sugar/ diabetic ? I was prescribed this and I am afraid to take it because of the symptoms I already have, which are PTSD, panic attacks, vertigo, depression, etc....

metformin is a standard treatment for type 2 diabetes.

If you don't treat high blood sugar levels the consequences will be a extremely serious - including cardio-vascular problems, heart problems, impaired mental function .... and death.

it is a risk factor for lowering B12 absorption which can result in many of the listed side-effects - though this tends to happen slowly and over a long period of time. If you experience side-effects then you should draw this to the attention of your GP and/or pharmacist.

Have you had any advice about diet - you might find it useful to join one of the diabetes forums and ask about diet and exercise.
