Intrusive thoughts
Its the exact same damn thing.
Just realize it is the anxiety.
But it will pass when you focus on more positive thoughts.
I have been in a state like yours for a while now. But I am ok with it. You have to be gentle to yourself. I like to take long hot baths and drink calming tea. Peace comes eventually. Dont force yourself to feel better. It just comes.
So what else do you do to stop it ?
I focus on the good in my life.
When you cultivate the mindset of patience, you will learn that we heal in layers. So stop resisting this process, stop expecting that life should be different, stop waiting to feel better. Just find meaning in the process itself. There is no there, there is only here. Here in this moment. Accept the opportunity to learn and grow and feel the pain.
Everyone wants a quick fix. If there was one in a pill, in a video, in a book, we would all be more "sane"
Its the redult of excess adrenalin so you need to burn off that adrenalin. A really good way is boxing, running, swimming or any other physical activity that gets you heart rate up and produces a good sweat. Think of the sweat as the route by which the excess adrenalin leaves your body.
You can stop it by living in the moment. I like to knit, making scarfs for people. Doing things for others.
I take care of my son, but believe me its hard to be a good parent when I am depressed or have anxiety. But I just force myself to stop worrying about my mental state and just be in the moment with him.
If you dont have people depending on you, then look out for yourself. Do things that you find joy in.
Go be out in nature. Even if its cold outside, get some sun. The sun heals us.
Been on holidays and we now driving back and I'm like what if what if . Hard to think of something else when on a road trip . But thanx for you advise . Also I'm over thinking as one of my staff had a heart attack while I have been away so I'm now thinking I'm next . Just wish it would stop β

I also have very intrusive thoughts and have for years, just recently I have started therapy. She gave me some good advice , when I start feeling like that take a moment and think about the good things in your like and just be concerned with what is going on in your life at that koment. Like while driving enjoy drive itself and the outdoors you can see. It sounds weird but it works for me
yep, its the same thing, your mind wouldn't be stuck on these intrusive thoughts if you weren't worrying about them. Try and accept the thoughts as thoughts and agree with them. fighting them and worrying over them will add fuel to the fire so having no emotion on them and agreeing with them will eventually fade them away. hope this helps Xx
