Hi my name is Chris im 21 years old and I've been dealing with health anxiety for a few years now I've had almost every symptom known to man from sharp chest pains dull chest pains to skipped heart beats in a row. I've had multiple EKGs blood test chest x-rays all normal and my doctor has even listen to my heart and said that it sounds beautiful but he sent me for an echo which was normal as well. But today I'm just laing in bed and I feel this heart thud sensation and I instantly shoot up I'm so nervous as we speak is this just my anxiety that caused this?????

Kingchris, yes it is anxiety. I use to feel that thud almost like my heart dropped. Like you, I would jump up which would be impossible if it were serious. Breathe Chris...slow inhalation, and slowly blowing out the air thinking relaxxxx
Your heart is okay, this is to bring down your anxiety. Let us know how you are..
Why does it have to happen whenever I am relaxing laying on my back it sucks
Was the same for me. A lot of that has to do with stretching out on the bed while on our backs. Our body is trying to unwind from the tenseness we have held in all day. When on our back, the heart is positioned nearer the wall of our chest surrounded by overstimulated nerves. A lot of what we feel is more muscle tics then it is the heart.
How did you get them to stop or get through then
Chris, I listen to Relaxation/Imagery tapes while I do deep breathing in bed. Immediately upon getting in bed for the night as well as first thing when I wake up. In the afternoon I go into YouTube and type in Audio Relaxation/Deep Breathing videos.
I listen to them for 10 min which is a respite from stress and anxiety. After practicing doing this day after day, when you do get an uncomfortable symptom, you will no longer get afraid. Your body will automatically go into breathing and relaxing and accepting this is not harmful. This is anxiety playing it's game. Chris it works..I am in control of my mind and body once again.
Hi Chris. Yes, it's just anxiety. I suffer from the same. I've had a stress test done and heart is fine. I know you've been told this many times, try to relax, and try to change your thoughts. Do what you can to think positive. I know, it's sooo much easier said than done. Mediation and daily excercise has helped me. Just know you're not alone.
Hi kingkris. So sorry your feeling every heartbeat. Yes, that's scary I get skipped beats and flip flops . Feels like spasms in chest area and vibrations too. I had a two week heart monitor and echocardiogram but that was five months ago. Now I'm worrying every feeling is something wrong with my heart. So I know what you mean . Stay strong and keep marching on . I'm praying for you.
