So I have struggled with anxiety for ever. 10 years ago I was on celexa for six months then stopped taking it. Recently I've been prescribed Paxil then Luvox. I picked them up by never tried them. I tried hydroxyzine once didn't like it. A couple years ago my old doctor prescribed klonopin and I took it no more than 10 times before it expired. I talked to my doctor about it and prescribed me 10 pills klonopin. I took it today and now I remember this works for me it makes me feel normal and doesn't take my worry away but less panicky. I feel like I need this medication almost daily but doctors don't like to prescribe it that way. Any ideas or suggestions welcome. Thanks

Hi Hms2112, Is it your GP or a psychiatrist? I can't be the only one whose doctor always has prescribed daily pills so as not to get the up and down effect of the medication. I've noticed most people on the forum say that their doctor has them on an "as needed" dose.

Dr's are typically weary about prescribing any benzo-class drug on a scheduled basis. Typically, the SSRI's are better for anxiety on a long-term basis.

Some people really do need the benzo's though for a period to get them to relax.

I suggest talking to your Dr about it more.
