I was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to battle morning anxiety attacks. I wake up everything morning to an attack and they can last for hours. It makes it hard to sit through my classes or want to function. This all started when I found out my boyfriend emotionally cheated on me. Thanks

Morning Attacks
What do the attacks feel like, what do you think about when you are having them?
Racing heart, quick breathing, I feel like crying and very overwhelmed. Mostly I think it is from what my boyfriend and I are going through ( I wrote about it in a previous post) and stress of this being my last semester of college.
Well is it not natural to feel anxiety when you are going through a bad patch in your relationship? I think it probably happens to everyone its natural.
Hi hrmiller17, first you need to get rid of the word "battle". Your anxiety already predisposes you to react to the higher levels of cortisol in the morning. You are having situational anxiety due to your stress with your boyfriend. In order to take care of the morning anxiety, you need to address the situation between you and your boyfriend. You have no control over what he is doing or has done but you do have control over the way you react to the emotional distress. This may take some therapy to get you over the hump. Once you let go of the stress then you can start working how to address the morning anxiety. However, I'm sure the levels will go down once you find an answer to your problem. Anxiety begets more anxiety. I am sorry you are going through this.
Is there a cortisol blocker available without prescription?
