Have you ever thought about controlling and overcoming anxiety instead of say things like managing them?

I know anxiety can be a very awful thing to live with. I have lived with anxiety all my life but never knew the extend of it until this year. So in essence I have "managed it" but never had control of it....until now.

Your body is always going to give you symptoms that you think or feel that something is happening. Did you ever stop to think that getting these symptoms are natural to your body? These are merely reactions to what you "think" is happening, when in reality nothing is happening and you are just fine.

I was very fortunate to have gone through anxiety. I say this because it allows me to understand what is important in life. I thank God everyday for giving me anxiety, because if He hadn't I wouldn't have the personal relationship I do now with Him and It has given me the ability to help others in the process.

So what am I saying? Instead of choosing to manage it why not control it? Accept the anxiety, and go about your day. You'll see that each day it gets less and less. It is going to come and go, that you can help, but you can help the way you react to it. The saying goes "20% is the situation and 80% is how you react to it."

I hope this helps. Prayer and God is my biggest supporter and it has been great. This coupled with therapy (talking to someone who knows whats going on) is amazing.

Thank Very Powerful Words. I've tried just accepting it but for some reason this heart attack fear is much greater. I'M only 28 and had a cardiac work up last year but the anxiety symptoms always take me back there. I will have to be more in tune with prayer thanks again

How bad did your anxiety get? What were your symptoms? How long did you have it before your learned to live with it and control it? Thanks Devin76oh.

Thank you! Your post changed my night from bad to great. I see a light at the end of this really crappy tunnel. You're right. I got up and went about my evening and felt better. Now, I will go about my day tomorrow and if anxiety wants to tag along, so be it. It's just a feeling anyway.
