Although I'm very aware that anxiety itself won't kill me, the stress that causes strain on my body can. I'm now on blood pressure meds, my heartis constantly pounding whether I'm sleep or awake. I have to have surgery in a couple weeks and im EXTREMELY terrified that may get blood clots or something. I'm just praying that everything goes well. Keep me in your prayers, please! Thank you guys

Hi Kenya40, I also am on blood pressure meds and worried just like you that the stress and strain of anxiety itself would be harmful. That's when I started using relaxation and deep breathing to keep me in a calming state throughout the day. Using those techniques can actually keep you in a steady calm state. I would suggest these couple weeks before surgery to start using meditation several times a day. Calm your mind, the doctors will take care of keeping you safe in surgery. Meanwhile I'm sure you will have the support and prayers from myself and the forum. Keeping you in our thoughts.
Hi kenya everything will be fine trust in the Lord with all of your heart. I will keep u in my prayers please come back on the forum and let us know how everything went like the previous poster said just keep doing meditation several times a day and u will be fine. Please keep in touch
Everything with be fine, I have an appointment in a few weeks for stomach ulcers witch I'm almost 90% sure I have. My anxiety has been in full force. Try & kee yourself busy the mind is a very crazy thing. I feel I have to keep myself busy because if I don't I start to panic from worrying. Hang in there I will keep you in my prayers 🙏🏻
Anxiety and Stress can cause harm yes but not in an immediate way. By that I mean a calm person on average is gonna live longer than a nervous person but look at it like someone that's smokes drinks or overweight. It's not certain doom just a factor.
