Hi everyone,

I have a 13 year old. He really keeps me going.
Wow! You're a busy guy. Anxiety certainly can intensify with responsibility and a busy schedule. As a parent of older kids, I know that my anxiety intensified because I did not take time for myself to unwind when the kids were young. If we are prone to anxiety, we need to take extra good care of ourselves. Also, we need others to care and fill us up.
What treatments or helped have you tried? Do you have help and support?
Were all here to vent, help each other, and lead each other to peace. Let us know how we can help!
Peace!
It's tough with kids. Best thing to do is get help even if it means xanax, Ativan or whatever else helps you calm down
Cut out alcohol, coffee and cigarettes.
My first anxiety attack happened when I was hung over. It was the most incredible feeling that I got at 23 years old. Now I am 48. I have been battling this demon sometimes 10 times a day. It made me sell 3/4 of a million a year business.
First I cut the coffee. Did not help
Then I cut out booze but I was one day a weekend binger.
Still no relive
Finally I cut out smoking a month ago.
95% panic attack free
I was always aggressive and angry.
We shall see if cutting smoking will help my anger problems
Good luck
There is no one answer for this as everyone will give you different solutions and opinions - I suffered from anxiety from a young age till - about 5 years ago - occasionally it flares up; previously it has felt like it would never go and it would be a 24/7 thing for the rest of my life - then I had a nervous breakdown and the only way was up after that - incredibly that is sort of what cured me - I'm not saying you should have one but we all come to this from a different place...think of it as a journey with no goal; some days will be better others not - try and see the anxiety as a bit of a guest that is happening to stay for a while; you will get annoyed with it or upset or angry; but if you sort of put up with it a bit it kind of gets easier; a cloud that might hang around and perhaps one day it will be gone / or not; take it nice and slow and do nice things for yourself when you can...
