Feeling like I need to catch my breath
Hi ellisdrewoffiicial, it certainly sounds like the effect of anxiety. The diaphragm as well as the muscles in the chest wall get tight due to panic and anxiousness. It causes that feeling like you can't expand your lungs to get a deep breath. Try slowing down your breathing in order to calm your mind and body. Don't force the breathing, it will kick in as you relax.
Okay thank you being back home is causing me stress at the moment and it get fairly anxious a lot here and I've only just had it since I'm back so this has relaxed my mind
Yes this is a normal symptom of anxiety
Whenever I'm even feeling mildly anxious,
I start to believe I have breathing troubles etc. but overtime of just taking my mind off of it I start to feel better
If you have asthma or anything just remember to take your medication as prescribed & try not to stress yourself out.
And try to get a breath of fresh air
Sounds like it . I had an EMT tell me that when you panic you tend to swallow too much air which makes you feel like you can't breathe. He said to try and burp to get it out. This may sound weird ? But drink carbonated soda and burp out the air. The EMT didn't tell me about the soda , but it does help. Good luck
