I think both hinge on each other. Do you have the resources to see a specialist about changing your looks?? Would that be enough in itself to change the way you feel? Just remember we are broken from within. How we feel about ourselves with change the way we perceive others looking at us.
Oh smjtty, I don't know anything about cosmetic surgery, but in this day and age, anything is possible by the right surgeon. I would think you could get a doctor to recommend the surgery so that it would be covered under insurance. For the sake of your well being, the doctor may be able to attest to the fact that it is harming you emotionally as well as physically being so close to your eyes.
There has just got to be a way to make you better. Filling you will pills that didn't work or only made matters worse is not the answer. Something physically needs to be done to give you back your life, your self esteem again.
Gee, doctors go all over the world helping people who have been involved in a traumatic accident or born with a disfiguring disorder, I can't believe there isn't someone who can help you. It's a matter of knowing where to turn, who to trust and what's involved with surgery.
I wish I knew who you could call to at least get some advice. Maybe someone on the forum might have some suggestions. I'm behind you in whatever you do, whatever you decide. x
I sometimes do not like my looks either (wrinkles, thinning/greying hair). It is difficult for things we cannot change!!! My only advice: 1) I feel better about myself after exercise ... for me, riding a bicycle while watching TV at the gym... which I do not know if this is an option for you, 2) for minor cosmetic things (such as moles), doctors can remove those. I hope this helps. I am thinking of you!!!
