Just wondering if the hormone imbalance during menopause could heighten the symptoms of anxiety/panic? anyone got any advice?

Menopause/anxiety/panic
Hi Suzie, I see this article explaining how menopause can bring anxiety. I expect those who already suffer with anxiety may find the hormonal changes exacerbate existing anxiety. Peace!

Thank you for your replies, comforting to know I'm not the only one and that I'm not going crazy after all xxx
Hi yes i believe it does,im a long term anxiety and panic attack sufferer and am in the perimenopause leading up to menopause, these last couple of years i have had bad bouts of severe anxiety i have not felt before, and it has made my panic attacks more frequent, apparently progesterone is the calming hormone, and estrogen controls many things in our bodies,so in menopause ours are totally imbalanced, not fair at all really as this only makes things harder, but hopefully will settle down when we get through it.
I think menopause brought my anxiety back after going years without it. I find hot flushes can send me into a panic attack.
Yes I think that may be one of my problems too? I'm definitely going to be a man next time haha, god dam menopause! last thing I need right now! X
