Try and stop thinking the worst! Its hard and I do the same but just try and relax. I know sometimes I get chest pain due to anxiety or feeling worked up.. Hope you feel better.
Yes it does hon..however if you're unsettled about it..nip to gp and get wee check up.
There's millions of symptoms with anxiety And it sucks.
We just need to try tell ourselves that it is just a symptom xxx
If you have not gone to your GP I would do so just to make sure.
To answer your question though, yes it does cause muscle tension in the chest. For me it the chest, arm (left), middle back pain and jaw tension /pain. So you could imagine how much anxiety (health anxiety) I have. It mimics the symptoms of heart attack. I can have all these symptoms and have my heart rate be normal and blood pressure normal as well. It can be hard to not ignore but definitely doable.
I've had so many tests done and every thing is OK. I have to trust my cardiologist, they are the experts.
He told me take Ibuprofen, over the counter pain medicine. He told me to keep a diary, and I will be honest some of the pain went away proving to me it was muscle related and not heart. Of course I am still anxious at times but I have to remind myself that I am healthy and that anxiety can mess with you. Hope this has helped.

Yes it does it causes tension in your body neck, sholders, upper and lower back, legs and arm's also tension headaches i catch my self clenching my teeth and when holding my dudes hand i hold it really tight. Anxiety caus3s all kinds of different symptoms some are scary but im still learning they are all feelings we all had before but we just pay attention to it way to much to where we get our selves worked up about it im learning to just pay no mind to it.. just relax and tell your self you will be ok it will pass it's hard at first but the more you tell your self you'll be ok it will pass faster it wont last as long the chest tightness is from anxiety when you feel it just stand up and stretch, take a warm shower, walk around do anything to get you mind on somthing else.. i have full blown anxiety panic attacks,PTSD and depression im trying so hard to deal with it on my own until i get in to see the mhmr doctor.. i know you will be fine anxiety is a very scary thing to deal with no one understands it like the one's who have it i totally understand how you feel.. I will pray for you tonight the lord will protect you you will be just fine.. good night and please don't think so much about your anxiety.. pay attention every time you feel it coming on because when you can Finley notice it coming on you can stop it from getting out of control like with me i can tell when my anxiety is about to hit me my neck gets tense and i my arms twitch before when i would feel that i would get scared now i stop it before it gets to be full on panic attack i take a shower, stretch i get my self out of the house before i would just sit and be scared, panic so bad i would freak out i had to snap out of it i talked to alot of people and i found this site im glad i did now i understand anxiety and how to control it not to let it control me
Right there y you! My doctor reassured me it's my anxiety causing my pains. I'm absolutely healthy and young it's my anxiety thinking the worst. We need to train ourselves how to not think the worst.
