Hi Panicguy

Try doing nothing about those chest pains (and all other symptoms e.g feeling strange, unreal, not with it, depression, shaky body, fast heartbeat, no interest in anything, tired and weary, disconnected, irritable, mind constantly racing...to name a few) and allow yourself to feel this way and be OK with it. By doing nothing, you will give your mind and nerves a rest and a chance to heal. Your nerves have become tired and sensitised (and your mind too, probably) because of you running around trying to find answers, worrying and obsessing about how you are feeling. You are unwittingly keeping a grip of anxiety by continually adding fear and worry and keeping your nerves in a sensitised which is the root cause of anxiety. With understanding of the condition you are in comes less fear and less adrenalin, the very things that prolong your agony. So, give up the fight, do nothing and realise it is ok to have anxiety. It works a treat once you master inactivity towards your symptoms. Just let them be there.

Nothing worse than feeling ill when you have anxiety. Strangely, I welcomed it because I put all anxious thoughts and feelings down to the fever and was able to relax. Now that is acceptance for you! Keep practising acceptance and you will get there.

Beevee, interestingly enough, I have always been able to do the same thing. It's something tangible, real where there is a beginning and an end. Much easy for me to handle too.

I think it all boils down to attitude once again. I'm ill, I have a fever, my body aches and adrenalin is pumping through me to fight the bug. Similar symptoms to anxiety but because I am ill, I accept my body will heal itself so I may as well sit back and let it all happen. Have this attitude for anxiety and you are laughing all the way to Normalville.
