I got my lab results back today for my cortisol levels, and it's really not looking good... my adrenal glands are literally just burnt down to a crisp. I have absolutely no energy left in me and today I had the worst panic attacks of my life, I believe. At one point, I had such a horrible dizzy spell that the whole room turned upside down in my head and I was absolutely sure I was about to faint, and it scared me so much I ended up shaking and quivering, my whole body tense, just shaking and ran towards my medicine cabinet walking on really weak legs and took a benzo immediately. I ate my lunch for about 45 minutes because I was terrified to even sit up in my bed and eat (obviously the next thing after taking the benzo was to run into my bed). And now I'm just spending my whole day, in complete darkness, lying in bed and on my laptop, barely managed to calm myself down just a little because I read that severe adrenal fatigue can actually be fatal. I am only 20 years old and my family does not take any of this seriously, and I feel like I am dying here. I'm just so sad right now, heartbroken and alone.

So I found out I have adrenal fatigue...
Hey,
My adrenals are also on strike due to me being on high dose steroids for ages (prednisolone) which stops them working completely.
Tapering off them means I need to help stimulate them to bring them back to life. I take a vit B complex and lots of water and try to keep active (with agoraphobia it's difficult!) Rest is important to when you feel tired as you don't want to put any more strain on already unconscious adrenals.
Stress and anxiety need to be minimal... (I laughed when my professor told me this) so you have an extra reason to get this anxiety under control.. take it easy and talk to a professional to make a general diet and lifestyle plan to wake your adrenals up. It can be done quite easily but like everything else it takes time. Xx
Ps- if you need help with this Dr can prescribe hydrocortisone x
