sincerelynina, I do my deep breathing and listen to a relaxation tape every night while in bed as well as first thing when I wake up in the morning. It really does help the shakes and fear. x

It is ridiculous in how anxiety controls us.

Ever since I got off benzos, that feeling has gone away. I am only on Lexapro. The benzos were causing an exaggeration of my symptoms. No more scared feelings if I should fall asleep on the couch. It use to be bad. The fear was horrendous.

Yes sleeping makes the stress hormone cortisol rise that is why we often feel at our worst and shaky in the mornings exercise is a good way to reduce it faster.

There is things you can do with out taking meds it sounds like the start of full blown panic attacks.. take a hot shower, take some benadryl what the benadryl soes is it relaxes you so your heart can rate can slow down to naormal it does help you relax and get rest.. also drink some hot camomile tea with limon, with out sugar at night and hot lemon water with out sugar through out the day.. when your body tenses up use tiger balm musel rub its $5 at the store, you can also make a heart pack with dry rice put it in a clean old sock tie it in a knot put in the microwave for 2 to 3 minutes put it on the places where your tight, tens it truly helps.. also try not to think so much try to stay out of the house all day tire your self out doing things anything to keep your mind busy so you dont have to over think things and trust me you will be fine you have to control it dont let the anxiety panic attacks control you ok.. trust me if you just do the things i mentioned they will slowly slow down and go away for good.. when you feel it coming on dont panic becausr it makes it more intense ok just breath slow, stay calm take a hot shower if your home if your out the only things you can do it walk around and try not to think about it i get through it like this i tell my self anxiety is a part of my life it hasn't killed me,i cant die from it its just a different feeling i have in my body.. my dude told me its a feeling i have that has alway been there i just pay to much attention to it now its nothing new just more intense that is what gets me through my day im listing to my dude he helps my get through it every day.. so please dont let it control you its all mind over matter

Jax78, thanks for the hint about the dry rice heat pack. The heat packs from the drugstore are quite costly and once you use them you have to throw them away.

Heat works the best for me although I knew people who swore ice paks were the way to go. Whatever works. thanks Jax. How is your jaw doing since surgery? x
