Help plz plz plz!!!
How can i try and help my lovely? x
I have been unwell for the past couple of days & I think I have tonsillitis so I phoned the nhs to ask if a doctor could come out to the house but the mental health nurse has just phoned back & basically asked if I can go down to see the doctor as I haven't been out in over a month but I really really don't think I can do it!! My appointment is at 1.15 and I don't know what to do as I obviously need my throat checked out 😢 X
could you get a taxi. as if you need to get your throat checked out then you will have to go to the doctor you have all my sympathy but they wont see it like that as they are very busy they have given you an appointment which means that you dont have to go into accident and emergency and wait for hours on end. and perhaps when your at the doctors you can tell them about your anxiety and they will be able to help you with that as well. so you will be getting both problems seen to and im sure you will feel better. love grace xoxoxo
I get like this too and it's easy for people too say just do it maybe try and thunk about how proud you will be or a sense of relief you may have after you've been to the appointment or take someone with you that you feel comfortable around I hope this helps well done xx
i do think its better to try and encourage someone to keep their doctors appointemnt if they are ill. its not easy for us to say that. but we know its the best thing for the person. would it be better if we said oh well dont go to the doctor never mind seeing about your sore throat or your anxiety just suffer it. i mean we cant win with some people
Thank yous for your advice! I did try & go but when I got in the car I started panicking & had a panic attack crying & everything so I couldn't make it but the mental health nurse on the phone understood that I did make an attempt & to see that as an achievement. I'm currently waiting on the doctor to phone back for a phone consultation now x
Well done for trying sometimes even trying to do something that you are anxious about is an achievement xxxx
Hi Ldoc1993. I understand your situation. It's called agarophobia. I go through the same thing, but it gets better over time. I use to have doctors appointments and I use to cancel because When I use to ride in the car. I would experience anxiety motion sickness. It is terrible. I fell like I am going to pass out. I been taking meds and vitamins so it's a little better. I stayed in my house a whole year, the only place I went was the doctor office. I had to shop on line, and pay my bills. My children and mother had to do my grocery shopping. I hope you get better real soon. Sometimes vitamin deficiency can contribute to your anxiety such as B vitamins, D, and Magnesium, etc...
Have had severe agoraphobia but go out all the time now I still feel uncomfortable on public transport but it doesn't ruin my life now I can do most things I so understand and sympathise but your doctor will too Its a horrible thing to have You can get well no matter how terrible you feel now Look on You Tube there is so much on there to help you with agoraphobia Lose you fear of the feelings then you will find there is nothing to fear outside Its your fear of the fear thats keeping you a prisoner Have a look for Claire Weekes books or CDs they will I promise help you so much She turned my life round Its my son's 30th today going out for lunch I cant wait When I was ill I would be dreading it thinking how will I get through it now I don't recognise that person I love life and enjoy it
