I've been away from this site for about 2 months I suppose. I had a health scare in Feb and went to the Heart Hospital. I'm 35 year old male and see a cardiologist due to high blood pressure and high cholesterol (all hereditary). Anyways, long story short, the er nurse thought I had a cardiac event from a slightly elevated troponin level in my blood work. The EKG's, Chest X-Ray, Blood Pressure, CT-Scan, all came back normal. They kept me and retested 12 hours later. All levels were back to normal/borderline normal after two bags of I.V.'s. My cardiologist makes his rounds the next morning and tells me that due to my exercise, along with a diuretic that he had me on to help treat my BP, that I was severely dehydrated which caused my blood work to look abnormal. I wasn't satisfied with that so I begged him to perform an angiogram. He did one that same day and found one small artery with 10% or less blockage (he didn't see any problem with that). They released me and my chest pains went away after a few days of being cleared. There was a medicine mixup and I was on too much BP meds for a few weeks which made me weak and dizzy. This started causing anxiety because I couldn't figure out what was wrong with me. I had a minor panic attack and went to the ER in March. All tests came back fine. The ER doctor prescribed a small dosage of Xanax. With exercise and one Xanax every morning, I was able to get all my symptoms to basically disappear. I even went to a counselor due to my health anxiety/ptsd from thinking that I was having a heart attack. I felt fine from about April - late June (no problems). My Xanax ran out on a Thursday and I failed to pick up the prescription. I made it 4 days feeling fine, then WHAM another small panic attack that gave me chest pains and I couldn't sleep that entire night. I'm back on Xanax and still living my "normal" life, but the chest pains come and go all day long. I know that I'm medically cleared by both my Cardiologist and my General Family Doctor, but when will these chest pains go away??? My anxiety right now stems from my chest pains.
It seems like I beat symptoms and more symptoms show up.
UGHHH! I will beat it again, I know that this won't last forever!
I thought I beat this. Any similar stories or helpful stories out there?
Thanks!!
