Hello, I was taking the
diuretic
Spironolactone however it caused hearing loss. I explained to my doctor who changed my medication to Furosemide but results are the same. anyone aware of an alternative

New Diuretic (Metolazone (Xaqua))
I have been put on Metolazone (Xaqua). I just wondered if anyone else have tried it and how they got on.

which diuretic with prednisolone?
I posted a while ago about diuretics - thanks for the responses. Mum was put on furosemide which worked for the odema, but within a week had diarrhoea which meant it was stopped and we ended up with a bad uti with haemorrhage due to the diarrhoea…… It may have been the furosemide causing the diarrhoea

Does anyone take a diuretic to help with water retention?
Ive recently been prescribed a
diuretic
to see if this will help. Do others have a similar issue? Or is it a sign that I’m still under medicated? My legs are painful, my knees are painful. It never ends does it….🤪 Hashimoto’s/ Hypopituitary/ Central Hypothyroid/ taking T4 and T3

Appointment with cardiac nurse.
The nurse advised me to increase my
diuretic
. Not to worry too much about the 1 litre that the consultant advised me to have. Said about 1 and a half to two litres. Can't believe how much better I feel since I started on the medication. Long may it last. Will need another x-ray to check fluid.

Mrs Mac.
He changed his
diuretic
(furosemide)a few months ago due to side effect of gout attacks. The current one (bumetanide) is causing agonising muscle cramps. He is very brave but its making him miserable. He sees his GP this week and wants to also address insomnia caused by severe itching skin.

Propranolol for high bp?
It actually is part a
diuretic
. Made me terribly ill but didn't change my PLMD much, at least the one night I took it. Going back to zestril that also has increased my peeing but the main problem is the cough, which can be bad at times, but it's better than the olmerstartan.

Excessive loss of salt
At the same time I’ve been on a
diuretic
for variable blood pressure. I often feel overwhelmingly tired and lacking any sort of motivation. And light headed, symptoms of PMR. I got an urgent message to go on a high salt diet with no other information. I began that diet that I made up myself.

Coming off Beta Blockers and Eplerenone?
Eplerenone seems to be a secret
diuretic
, at least according to the BNF (https://bnf.nice.org.uk/drugs/eplerenone/) which does not mention that side effect, whereas other website sources do.

Help with results
(Normal range: 9.5 to 22.7) I didn't actually go to the doc thinking thyroid or diabetes, I was asking for a
diuretic
as I felt sure the weight gain was water retention for MS medication I take.
