I've been going through this for a while now, it feels like I'm very concious of my thoughts and and my thought process ,all I do is think and I can't stop thinking. I think about thinking, that's the best I can explain...any help ?

Over thinking..need help
Hi jb414, this isn't unusual when we have a lot of time to ourselves. We need some interruption of our thoughts whether it be a radio, reading, tv or just being with others. Distraction is the answer.
No matter how hard I try to focus on other things I can't forget about my thoughts it's 24/7..idk what to do anymore
jb414, do you have anyone around you to talk with? If you live alone I understand it can be difficult. Going outside helps as well as having some plan for the day to look forward to, no matter how small.
I also think that seeing a therapist may help immensely in weeding through these obsessive thoughts. They will help you find a way of erasing them from your mind in short intervals at a time.
Yeah, I would have to agree with Agora1. Distraction can really help because it puts your focus on something else. A good show or book helps me, but also word searches keep my mind very focused as well.
These moments definitely flare up when you're on your own. If you would like TV/Movie/book recs just say the word! Just, definitely nothing too slow...
Try some deep breathing texhniques. Breathe into your belly for 6 counts and hold for 4 then breathe out for 6. Focus on the sound of your breath and feel your belly moving.
Sometimes trying meditation works well too, it's hard to achieve, but when you do it is an awesome feeling. Your thoughts will pass by without judgement... Just a thought passing by and then leaving.
Hi I too feel like this I find listening to relaxation dvd helps me. If you google mood juice there are some really good ones you can download.
