Do you get anxiety when taken new medication?

i want to know if anyone else feels like this. The anxiety starts with thoughts of. What if this tablet doesn't work with my body and it gives me really bad anxiety. Then no one will be able to save me. I'll just have to wait it out until it goes out of my system. 😞 My mind is awful. I'm even like this with my Melatonin tablets (for sleep) that I have taken a few times. "Like what if I don't ever wake up?"

Hi IrishGuy, I think we all have fear in taking new medication. There are just times that we must put our fears aside in order to get some help or we stay in a rut. I am just as guilty of this as anyone else. I don't know if you are talking about any particular medication but if meant for anxiety it should be able to calm you down and not make it worse. It really is a safer bet to take meds that your doctor prescribed than grabbing something over the counter. "What ifs" for the anxious person will stop us short each and every time. Try to push that aside and listen to your doctor. Good Luck
