One of the best choices i ever made was to meditate. I know it has helped me cope with awful mental health issues stress being the worse but for some strange reason i keep putting it off. I just did a stint and feel so much better. Even knowing the healing it does I find it hard to find time which I have plenty of.
Being bullied by my father constantly as a child have left me with terrible socializing problems . I have no confidence and feel people now take me for a joke and I feel I get ridiculed at times. Because many know where I live that I am unstable i feel they are trying to push my buttons and I fear I will lose it like I did before. This is why I also meditate to get more control. Bit of an over share but nobody knows me so why not.

I think we all have a past and things that have happened to us that have left us with deep pain and no one should judge not on here and no no one does no you but personally if I did it would make no difference to me what your past may have been I take people for who they are warts and all and I think you are a very sensitive , loving soul and should think more about yourself than you do , difficult I know when we can have had a life time of others trying to break us but not impossible so I am pleased you felt you could post just some of what you have been and still going through
All the negative people out there that pass you path remember there must be something wrong with them or why would they want to bring someone with problems down , it says to me that we may have Mental Health problems but we do try and do something to improve this , what are they suffering from to be so nasty ? I think they are not worth your thoughts or emotions
I am really pleased that meditation works for you and helps you to let go , it is strange because I to forget to do the things that help the most and when I remember to I feel so much better , maybe this is something I need to work on to , I have the time but getting that drive is needed with me at times
