Since I had the asthma attack 6 weeks ago I haven't been meditating. I used to do 20 minutes every day or at least 3 times a week. I know it has helped me to relax and stopped thinking to much , like living in your head all the time can and will make one anxious . My biggest fear is being around people Specially people I know. I have absolutely no confidence very low self esteem. I have had a few breakdowns and knowing people in my area knowing this is a added burden some think its funny which makes me angry. Meditating gives me a break from all the bad thoughts going on. I think having to much time to dwell on things can be very damaging to ones mental health. Keeping yourselves occupied is the key to fighting panic attacks. I am learning to play the guitar also. I hope some of you will take on board some of what I have typed because I have been through all of what severe anxiety can bring. Mine started with panic attacks and it got worse and worse till I couldn't be around people any more the fear was just to powerful. Now I realize the key is learning to relax and try and keep busy because if you let panic attacks take over your life it will get worse and can lead to Agoraphobia and breakdowns.

How true, how true. Keeping busy is taking away the fearful thoughts we keep thinking over and over. I also play guitar, but haven't picked it up in a long time.
Playing guitar is cathartic. My mother use to play guitar when I was little and we would sing and harmonize. Do you sing too? I can play the uke and the piano. But do I? NO...
I recommend you play again be it uke , piano or Guitar you are wise enough to know it will help heal you. Please don't waste your life like this. I know its hard but you must try . Remember baby steps first that's how I conquered my fears. Have you ever been traumatized I think I might of asked you this before but being a paramedic you must of seen some bad stuff.
What did you think of Trump and his not coming on stage to peddle his dirty politics ?
