It could be anxiety related pain. Sometimes anxiety can take on all sorts of physical ailments that are extremely uncomfortable. I know it's easier said than done, but try relaxation, possibly with relaxing meditation music sounds such as rainfall or quiet storms. Be sure to give your doctor a call first thing. Hope you feel better soon.

I know what you mean about getting a stiff neck from stress. I sometimes end up not being able to move my neck to one side or the other.

I use a warm wheat bag on my neck to ease the stiffens and I use lavender essential oil to help me to relax as well.

I also treat myself to a good neck and shoulders massage to help ease the muscles so that the tension doesn't keep building up.

Hope some of the things I do help you.

Take care

Hi Joesafee, I have neck pain, which feels stiff. I also have (now) a blocked ear. I am seeing my gp next week to see if I have Bppv ... which I have only just associated as may be the cause. I hate looking up and heights or moving fast. I keep trying to move my neck and it crackles!

I just had a test called VNG which tests your vestibular system.  It showed my right side is almost non-functional & left isn't strong enough to compensate.... Or th a try if you aren't finding answers.

Constantly. All tests normal except bulging disk at C-4/5 & C-6-7.

Usually due to stress caused by tensing up without even realizing it... I'm not a Dr. .. But I get the same thing at times... I do have cervical disc desease in my neck and that adds to that also, so get checked!! Good Luck and try to relax... I know, easier said than done!
