Just sent you a reply
The best way to cope with anxiety is to focus on other things that distract you. Get your mind off of anxiety and on to things you like or love that take your attention. Do whatever requires concentration and stick with it. When anxiety tries to take over, consciously push it away and refocus on the good thing. When necessary, slow your breathing down by focusing on it and counting slowly. Do this just long enough to slow your breathing down. You have a lot of control over what you think about and how much anxiety you'll put up with. If you feel it escalating, you can say "Stop it! Drop it!" and then visualize the anxiety being dropped on the floor. Then you continue your life in a normal way, not an anxious way, thinking only of normal things. Repeat these words as necessary.
Some anxiety is greater than your control and if you have that level of anxiety, that's where medication should step in. You still have your job to do, but both you and the medication do your jobs. Sometimes Drs. prescribe medications that won't help much with the anxiety for several weeks. I recommend you ask questions so you'll know what to expect. Best wishes to you and God bless.
