So everytime I try to fall asleep, it's as if I can control if I fall asleep or not. I start to feel light headed and my body feels very light too. And just before I fall asleep I get woken up, I can't really explain.. But it's like something in my head just jerks me awake and I feel dizzy. I can't explain this. I'd really appreciate if anyone knows the answer to this. If it helps, I can sometimes can get sleep paralysis pretty often and it leaves me in the same sort of state.

I can't fall asleep at all..any answers to this please? My friend told me it's Anxiety.
First port of call is going to see your GP, maybe it is anxiety or you may need referral to a sleep client. You have to talk to a professional.
Sounds like it might be sleep apnea. The only way to find out is to see your doctor, who will refer you to a sleep clinic.
Hi Jennaj, I only want to add that what your other poster said is 100% right on... please do visit with your dr about this...plus, just know this is something you are 'going through' right now...it will NOT 'last'...you just need a bit of help right now... that's it. You are going to fine. You'll see! Take care now!
I just posted something similar. There are times when I start to drift to sleep and my brain feels like it got zapped and it wakes me and I feel dizzy then the anxiety starts and it's followed by a panic attic. I was told by my psychiatrist that this is anxiety. Since then I try not to let it get to me but it is hard.
Thank you everyone! I appreciate the replies. I'll be sure to see my doctor about it. Another thing that's weird, just thinking about sleeping gets me into that light headed state. Just the thought of it. I hope to find out the cause of this once I see my doctor. Once again, thank you!
