I think you should consider believing him... This is a fairly common symptom...and I am sorry you are going through this... I know its scary... maybe try discussing this with your doctor as to the different things you might try...ok?? Good luck.

I answered down below to another post of yours... I have been taking 15mg of Mirtazapine per day (right before bedtime) Been on it now for not quite a month. No side effects except for just feeling 'weird' which I know is due to the ANXIETY and not the medication. The only other drug I take (occasionally) is .5 Ativan (Lorazapam) when it takes me over 2 hrs to get to sleep... Please try what the dr gave you. You WILL be ok but don't let your Imagination run away with you... (I know what that is like! :) ) I have NEVER EVER heard of anyone with an adverse reaction to Propanalol. Good luck, Saz!!

They put me on xanax and zoloft. Only took the xanax since they just gave me the zoloft today and the doctor recommended it me that one only to sleep, I was also scared because I thought I will have a reaction to it but I feel pretty normal. Still have anxiety but they told me it take around a week or so to start working.

I understand that Propranolol is one of the 'better' and more effective drugs to take...with much success and few side effects (if any!) You should probably give it a try! You WILL be ok... :) Honest!!

saz, have you started the propranolol yet??? I wish I could recommend something that you wouldn't be leary of... but I can't ... Just wanting to reassure you you WILL be ok...but you have got to calm down... wish you were here with me, I'd take you for a cup of coffee (and maybe a donut! :) ) and we would talk! Take care.

YAY!!!!!! :D

Proud of you!! I am sure it will be ok, also, it might help if you would take some homeopathics from time to time...like Calms (by Hyland's) Bach's Rescue Remedy, or Sedalia (Boiron)... They certainly will not hurt you! What helps me most is Argentum Nitricum (Boiron)...especially in the mornings... not miracle workers, but help to take the edge off.

Hi Saz,

kscott 19 is right when he says its used to normalize your heart... Two people that I know that suffered from scary palpitations were put on this drug and they said "it helped their anxiety." ... Well--!! It probably DID because if the palpitations were the cause of them getting all scared and anxious...its no WONDER it helped their anxiety. :) THANK YOU, kscott for your post!
