Buspirone

Hi, I'm new to the site and just wanted to know if anyone has taken buspirone for anxiety? I was put on it about a month ago and sometimes it works and some times it doesn't. Anxiety sucks!

Hi My name is Susan. I was on Buspirone for about a year then I had to switch to a different medication. Buspirone made me sleepy soon after I'f take it and it really didn't help much with with my anxiety.

It's hit or miss for me, maybe I need a higher dose. I started out on 5mg and I'm now up to 7.5.

My doctor prescribed 5 mg. About a half hour later I'd felt so sleepy, like I had taken a sleeping pill and it still did nothing for my anxiety. I am now taking Bupropion sr 150 twice a day. It wasn't working for me. My doctor said take three tablets a day instead of two. I did that for about a month and it made me anxious and restless at night. I just take two tablets a day, But I am going to ask my doctor to switch to something else. Its' frustrating because I feel like none of this medication works for me. I don't feel comfortable trying a different meds. I just want something that will ease my anxiety without giving me that drugged up feeling.

Hello! Yes I was also put on Bispirone along with my Wellbutrin for anxiety. It did aboslutely nothing so I stopped taking it. And, yes, anxiety does suck! Hang in there and please post if you find a good med that will help.

Taking wellbutrin to quit smoking is what caused my anxiety. It happened on the 16th of August and I've had panic/anxiety attacks everyday since. I'll make sure to let if know if I find something better. Thanks for the reply.

Anxiety does suck, I'm having a hard time with mine now, It's out of control. Back to your oRiGinal question, I was prescribed it but never started it I got nervous from the side effects.

Hello. New to this site as well and I find it really cool that this site is full of those dealing with various disorders and can feel comfortable about it. We need that. Can't wait to do a fundraiser for anxiety awareness next may anywho im actually on the Welbutrin & Buspirone and I think they are both helping me. The other night I had an epiphany that I didn't need the buspirone so I threw them in the trash... haha I had almost forgotten how stressful it is being a new found adult... Dr. So why did you throw your pills away? Me: Because I'm stronger than anxiety.... 2 days later... Hey doc could you write me a rx for buspirone again lol? Yeah I can't handle this. I was previously on zoloft and I didn't like it, made me feel more depressed than usual and I became irregular (menstrual) for 2mos straight! So for now im gonna stick to my current meds. It's all about how your body/mind responds to it. If youd like something else try it. Give the meds at least 2-3wks to work tho before you just switch.

I take 150 mg a day and it works for me I also take Xanax for emergency tho!
