Hi everyone. I'm having big problems with my eyes they feel very tired. My optician has done a dry eye test, and I now have drops to use 4 times a day. This doesn't seem to be helping. I wear glasses which don't seem right either. I also suffer from lightheaded ness. Does anyone else have this problem.

Dry eyes
What were you given to use?
Hello. Thanks for your reply. I've tried various drops, but the latest is Hyco Sin Extra three times a day and Viscotears at night. As I'm typing this, on my iPad, my eyes feel really odd. I have got prism lenses in my latest glasses too.
Viscotears is very good and works well as does Hyosan Extra but with dry eyes not everything suits so you'll probably need to try a coulpe of different ones.
Having said that it is also down to management of expectations - you will find it hard, if not impossible, to find a treatment that is perfect.
Having said that you've been prescribed by an optician. Some opticians I have been to have not been very good, to say the least.
Do you think you have dry eyes?
Thanks for your reply. I do think I have dry eyes, but also worry because they feel so tired, and I'm told by the optician that I do not blink.
What do you think? Do you blink? Having dry eyes has nothing to do with how much you blink it is down to either not producing enough tears or your tears dry before they get to cover the eye.
Dry eyes is where you get a feeling of dryness, grittiness or soreness which gets worse throughout the day. You can also get "red eye" which is exactly what it implies and is very, very easy to spot.
It doesn't manifest as a "tired" eye. I think you were misadvised.
Tired eyes or "eye fatigue" is often quite simple as it is usually down to excessive computer use or reading without adequate rest or even excessive driving.
My problem is not due either driving or computer use, as I am retired. My eye problem is made worse if I concentrate my eyes on anything for more than a few minutes. I must say that I do have a lot of stress at the moment, due to my husband's illness. This maybe plays a part in it too. Thanks so much for your reply.
Stress is a massive part of things and can manifest itself in many ways. Eye fatigue, however, has nothing to do with how much you blink.
I think you're not being treated fairly or correctly.
Have the eye test and new spectacles, if that helps, but if it bothers you more go and see your doctor. Eye strain has nothing to do with blinking, or not.
