Why does my mouth go numb?

I have only suffered with Anxiety for around two and a half years and it has turned my life upside down. There's so much I simply cannot do now and it seems that every time I learn to handle an anxiety attack, something new cones along putting me right back at the start.

The newest nasty little trick anxiety has discovered is making my mouth numb so that it feels awful and I can't swallow easily when it happens.

I can't understand why this happens and I think that because of my lack of understanding, I panic more.

Does anyone else suffer this and / or understand it?

Thanks in advance.

Al
