I've never had experience with this feeling but I do know how powerful the mind can be as well as anxiety. Likely anxiety is the culprit. Don't worry about it too much unless it keeps up. But anytime I feel off symptoms they've never lasted more than a few days.

Is your tongue numb, difficulty eating? Did you eat something that had a hot pepper in it ? Can' t imagine that it would " just be angxity attack ". If it has gone, maybe mention at next doc appt.. If not, if your still struggling with it, then you should see your doc or dentist. Don't know if you have recently had dental work ?

Please keep us updated .

back in the 90s, I had an episode of my tongue burning like there was Sriracha sauce on it and the roof of my mouth. 6 months it lasted i think. I went to the emergency room and it confused the Dr so much he turned to a big red medical dictionary on causes of Glossitis.......stress and anxiety. WhenI started Desipramine it eased off and stopped as a symptom. Sometimes its hard to believe what anxiety can do to your body.

I believe it's your anxiety.

I have it, and panic attacks, and I go numb in weird places as well. Left arm. Spots on my head. Left side of face.. And sometimes around my upper mouth and nose& sinus area. I also went to ER because I thought I was having strokes- but they say that stress and anxiety can cause "complicated migraines" which cause numbing... And often times don't feel like headaches! Feel it more in body parts. It's much easier telling someone who is experiencing stuff like this, that it's no big deal then it is being the one experiencing it because it's horribly frightening! So if you are extremely upset or anxious about it, you might want to get checked for peace of mind. Other wise the stress will prolong your episode. But just keep in mind that Numbing is SO typical in panic/anxiety situations. I can't tell you how many trips Iv made to the ER and been told it's anxiety.

Hope this helps and I really hope you feel better. I know it's hard to relax during physical episodes:/ just try... I feel so bad for anyone going through it because I know how stressful it is:(
