Hi Mcminn
I take Diazepam not all the time & mine are 2mg
They can make you feel dizzy to start with especially 6mg but they usually do take the edge of severe panic attacks
However they can be addictive to & that is why for me I wouldn't & don't use them long term only in emergencies & a lot of GP'S wont prescribe them long term either because they are aware patients can become addicted to them
Maybe you could see your GP & tell them your concerns , ask your own GP what they think about you taking them long term & see what they say
Sorry to hear you had such a bad time , try & rest today & be kind to yourself
Love

Thanks for the advice. I think I need to sleep for a year im shattered. Feel my chest is tight with breathing today. The doctor poked my chest and I was in agony. I think I've strained them panicking to much lol x
Oh bless you
When we have had such a severe panic attack as you had it does leave us feeling that way
Rest up & in a few days you will have more energy again but it is normal to feel this way
You made me smile sleep for a year
Take Care

Hi
I have diazepam too for panic attacks and find they help to calm me down but my dose is only 2mg and I only take them in emergencies. If your dizziness doesn't settle down in a few days it might be worth seeing your gp

I am not saying stop taking them but I was on them for 10 years and they made my life hell if you had a panic attack for 3 hours it's most likely the med's you symptoms seem familiar to what I use to get do you start shaking and feel nothing is real. discus it with your doc. only use them in emergencies and as the others here say 2 mg should work and yes they are addictive. I know from my experiences.
Yeah very addictive a started on 2mg few years down the line a was taking 40 mg a day buying them off the street also, when a tried to stop the withdraws where awfull iam now off them but it was hell getting off them be very careful cause they can get hold off you very quickly
I have them. I have taken them a lot. I had to quit because I am anemic and they can exacerbate anemia or cause it. Diazepam or Valium are sedatives. They will make you feel very heavy and sleepy. It’s basically what they do. If I take mine I have to lay down shortly after because I am out of it and often fall asleep. Very groggy. Do not drive or anything on them unless you build up a very strong tolerance to them. I never did. I have taken them to get through difficult medical procedures but I always have to have someone drive me. Otherwise I try to only take them at night or if I am able to nap. I got one now instead that doesn’t make me as tired for bad panic attacks. It’s great when I’m not able to sleep. You may want to give your body more time to get used to it but document and tell your doctor about all symptoms you have. I have taken 5mg and 10 mg depending on situation. The 10mg knocks me out cold and quick. Sometimes that’s needed. I prefer lower though so if something was to happen I can still function. A lower dose may be just as effective. Best of luck.
I am on them also but I only take 2.5 mg when needed and I have no side effects at that dose and it helps alot!! I'm sure you felt off because of the amount you took.
