Hi Rose,

I must be honest and say I don't know where to start, but what has brought all this on today?

Do you feel that you are able to chat with me?

HI rose,Try to breathe remember the steps, breathe in through your nose hold and blow out through your mouth faster x Balance the carbon/oxygen ration, tell yourself over and over I am fine this is panic x Try to keep calm and repeat and breathe it will go away as it has every other time x

I would just like to talk to anyone, any one at all, I'm so scared been crying for days. Just want to know it will all end! I'm so exhausted x

in reply toRoserose

It will end eventually x they always do, the panic is only kept running but you feeding it x If you ignore it by distracting yourself then it will pass sooner, can you talk on the phone to a friend or have you someone with you who can distract you x ?

Hi rose rem it will subside. I no its hard and feels awfull but once the adrenalin has spent it self it will calm down. Not much help i no. Panic attacks are awfull. Try to concentate on your breaths from your nose slowing it down as you go. Are you still taking your meds rose ? I remember you was taking citalopram. If not and you feel depressed maybe go back and see gp. And tell him how you are feeling . And maybe he can help : )

Hi rose, cause u didn't upset anyone. We all know how u feel u r not alone. Wen I just saw ur post in capitals it was ovious u needed someone to chat to straight away.

I really don't know how I coped wen I had big panic attacks. I still get little ones now and then and I can just about cope. I think mainly it's adding more panic to it. Like everyone says breath. I had some brown bags but never used them. Reason being wen having a panic attack i felt light headed and panicked even more.

I spent so much time crying, depressed because I cudnt c away out. I still don't like being alone at night now, as I felt worser come night time. U will get better. If ur like that now it's exactly how I was and I got given anti depressants (fluoxetine). If u think in anyway the tablets u was on never helped go back to ur gp and ask for something else. Then once they kick in and u start feeling better, u can then focus on wat u need to do in a panic attack. I found at the time I cudnt focus. Then after my medication started kicking in I found I cud read books on it. Then I got my self a note book and wrote in wen I felt anxious, had a panic attack. Wat I did and how I felt wen it had one, then I wud write wat else I shud of done xxx

Hi,

.

This could be everything hitting back at you after coming off the citalopram. You have to give your body a good while to get used to being off them (I mean months coz everyone is different).

Panic attacks don't last forever, remember that.

Maybe go and speak to your GP and explain the panic attacks are coming back.

Hi Rose, I was the same when I came off the Citalapram but it was too quick for me. I'm now starting to wean off very, very slowly. You should see your GP sweetheart and see what they say. Stay strong. All the best. X

Hi Rose, there have been some really useful suggestions all ready and having experienced panic attacks I can relate to how you were feeling. However, I think the point of not feeding them is a really important one. And you said you feel like you are back at square one ...... I really hope that once the panic and fear have subsided you will see (however small or big), that you have moved forward. And if you build up that resilience, when a panic attack does start to rear its ugly head you can begin to fight it off. X
