Hello Porgie.

Sorry to hear your having a rough time of it. You can bet your bottom dollar that anxiety is at the root of your problem, do you take any medication to help you sleep, If not I would see your GP and explain he might be able to give you something to help you relax and get to sleep. I'm sorry I don't have any more advice.

Take care Kenny-w xxx

Hi,thanks for reply yes think doctors appointment is needed for some sleeping pills as it's horrible and making me feel rubbish!glad it is related tho to anxiety and not something else.xx

Hi Porgie

I have been having this years !

As I am dropping to sleep my legs can jerk & it feels like I am falling !

I think it is when the muscles are starting to relax & we are unwinding

I no it gives you a shock & startles you when it happens but now when it does I just hear myself mumble "there was no need for that ! " & like most things with anxiety the less importance I give it the less fear & it doesn't happen as much now

Love

I've had spells of it too. Horrible. Anxiety related without doubt.

This happens to me all the time, has done since ive had anxiety. To be honest this is probably the one symptom that's a trigger to let me know im about to become unwell, as it gets worse, can be all night. Like you say, falling a sleep and lots of sudden jerks. I know it happens to everyone it is your brain that is shutting down, its just you don't normally notice it as much but when your brain is super sensitive with anxiety you are tuned in for every sensation. Stay positive Dee
