Give me this day the strength to find, the person that I left behind,
I play my game of hide and seek, behind the pain I take a peek,
My body lies upon my bed, wrecked and sore, the fear, the dread
But through it all I know I'll find, that person that I left behind.
I close my eyes and drift away, dreaming of that perfect day,
When I awake that day to find my fears and pain all left behind,
Left in the dark where once I dwelt, The fear of dying that I felt.
Where I would kneel each night and pray, dear God, don't let me die this way.
I look down on anaemic skin, bruises coming from within,
Eyes red raw and vision poor, every nerve and muscle sore.
But this is my armada now, and to this fight I shall not bow.
No quarter shall this lady give, I want a life, I want to live.

That was so touching & you have such a talent in expressing how you feel with your poetry
I am not going to say any more & spoil such a heartfelt poem as you have written , but remember when you didnt like hugs but think I got you to accept them , well accept the biggest hugs I can virtually send & they are sent with love
