Hello
Teeth grinding generally is caused by stress, or in some instances it can also be caused if you have had teeth removed and the jaw begins to collapse so a splint may be required and possible a denture to follow.
I have arthritis of the jaw so I have to have sedation for dental treatment as I cannot open my mouth full.
When in my thirties I had some removals of molars, this also caused problems and a splint had to be worn, my bite broke the splint that sat upon the top of the lowers and eventually they gave me a denture, the jaw broke the denture and I became that I could not wear the denture.
Now I am waiting for an extraction of one of my molars that has cracked due to my bite, possibly I had cracked a filling so it is back for sedation , will wait for six months
