To everyone who mentions the fear of dying. I have this awful fear as well and think about it most of the time.

Whenever I get a stomach ache (sometimes happens with females before a heart attack) or chest pain I am sure it is a heart attack and really expect to die. Also at the moment I am getting pains down the right side of my stomach in different places. Despite an ultrasound no reason has been found so far so back to the Dr. I am in a constant state of anxiety. I have lots of other problems but won't go on to much. Any fellow sufferers or advice?

To be honest your post has just given me something else to worry about that when I get a sore tummy now I'm going to think I'm having a heart attack. I don't think it's a good idea to list things that can be the start of a major illness on here. I've always tried to speak about MY symptoms not what can actually cause something.

Just my thoughts.

To Ashley 27. I am so sorry if I posted incorrectly. I have only done a few posts and I am obviously getting it wrong. I did not mean to worry anyone I just thought people would know that. I will be more careful in future but was only writing about my worries. Please accept my apology.

Hi Cathia

Hope you didn't think I was being snippy with you but I try not to see things that I know can be a symptom of something cos after that I start panicking thinking I have that, heart attacks are my thing of the moment and I Always get aches and pains in my belly and I just dismiss them, don't want to be worrying about that now lol :-) x

Hi Ashley. I am glad you put me right. Heart attacks are my worst fear and it does not help that I recently discovered I have a couple of cardiac issues (I won't detail!) I do not post much because I have difficulty putting in to words my fears which can be quite suffocating. I do read the posts a lot and wish everyone well.

Hi Cathia, can I ask how many times you get this pain??and does it happen alot.x

in reply toPorgie

Hi Porgie. Yes I do get this pain most of the time, have been diagnosed with diverticulosis in the past but hard to believe it is this. It is strange because it is a different pain in different places but always on the right side. Have had it for a while now.

Hello BOB here

Well all I can say wrote about this a while ago the churning tummy and the stiffness in the chest is power to the course I get the same and every time I get it I worry.

This condition(s) are all part of stress, if the GP has had it checked do not worry. Early on some twenty years ago I started above and the doctor did all the checks, I even carried a heart monitor around with me for two weekks it was stress, the same with the churning. If the GP is happy believe Him.

I still suffer from it even though may heart and bloods are checked every six months because of the medications I take.

Stop worrying all you will do is make matters worse, and you will worry even more. I suppose if you feel really bad have it looked into again. I am not a doctor, although I go through the same as you and I am 63 years old

But cathia despite the pain you get, your still here live and kicking.i no you say you think your gona have a heart attack or your going to die which must be horrible, but you have no prove this is gona happen.its just your mind powering these thoughts.and your over worrying which is making you think this.i bet if u focus your negative thoughts in to positive thoughts you will feel better. I had a fear I would faint when out in public but I never did faint it was all in my mind.think positive or seek help about your thoughts.x

I used to br like you, whenever i i had pain i thought it was cancer and went straight to m gp. Now since i'm depressed i don't care about my healt at all. Like i don't pay attention to any physical symptoms.

It's so weird with anxiety cuz we all do understand that we worry about things that most probably won't happen. Yet we worry a lot.

I'm no help right now sorry :( hope you'll feel much better soon hun! Xxx

Hi Cathia

When I first started with health anxiety some years ago , heart attacks were my biggest fear & then after years of worrying over that , it moved on to other health problems & still can do & the heart can still rear its head when I think I maybe having symptoms

I didnt no about the stomach thing been a sign , i get IBS , which a lot of us do with anxiety , so I wouldnt worry to much as your stomach could be playing up due to anxiety

If we read up about most illness, there will always be one symptom , we will think Oh dear I relate to that , I get that , I try & ignore or to be honest , not read them or I will have everything there is :-/

Dont worry about posting , you have to post what is happening with you & whats in your head , other wise been on here , wouldnt work

I come across posts that have my biggest fears in them , & there are a few at the moment , but people need to get them of their chests & be honest , to get support & it cant be avoided on something as big as this

I hope you will feel you can keep posting as there is so much help on here , that knowing you are not alone , gives you comfort as well :)

Love

Iv`e been paranoid about heart disease since my mother developed angina when she was only in her early 40`s, because all you hear is how heart disease is hereditary. There have been other premature deaths from heart disease on my mother`s side of the family, so my doctor organised a series of tests a few years back, including a stress treadmill test, an echocardiogram, & a scan of my carotid arteries. What good that last test would do is beyond me, but I was relived to be told that everything showed up normal. I do have slightly elevated cholesterol levels however, I everytime I feel the slightest ache in my shoulder or chest, I think, is this it? It does keep me awake some nights, & I really envy people without a bad family history. It`s almost like being stalked by the grim reaper!
