Hi newbie & Welcome :)

Well what do you say , say how you feel , how your anxiety affects you , there will be nothing you say on here that no one will have felt or thought , everyone relates to what someone says on here

I hope you feel free to talk more about you & no one will judge you either , but people will do their best to reassure you , that you are not alone

Love

Thankyou I suffer with extreme anxiety and cannot really go out,and socialise everything is an effort and against taking tablets.

So like a lot of us on here, even against taking tablets.

Yes

I to struggle with taking meds , have a fear of leaving the house & with this , always feeling drained as that is what anxiety does to you

Our bodies are so working over time to deal with these feelings it leaves us feeling worn out

Have you asked about counselling ?

That is another way to go & has helped so many on here

Take little steps ,with all this , maybe set little goals , one a week , what ever you can cope with , come on here people will encourage you & it does actually start to work :)

I have had CBT it did nothing just sat and listened no goals to reach in the end she to me I think you enjoy being like this I said oh do I did report it and offered me another conceal or she was lovely but did nothing for me,all the doctor wants is me to take meds I suppose there is nothing more than can offer.

O dear , I am sorry doesnt seem like you have had a very good experience here with counselling & I can imagine that will put you of that idea

There have been members that have had similar experiences & 3rd time they have been lucky & its worked

Do you always see the same GP , again sometimes the GP you see can not always be understanding & seeing another GP in the same surgery they can be more understandable its worth a try

Not sure if you work or have a family , how this is affecting your daily life

You dont have to answer , but the more you feel you can , people might be able to suggest or say what they are or have done to help them

Maybe even set your own goals , some on here post what they are no matter how small you think they may be people will encourage you as we do understand how even the smallest of things can be a struggle for us to do

Hello and welcome

I'm against meds as well personally - but there would be shame in using them just to get started on a path to recovery...there are some people here who swear that they did help in a fix...cbt is something of a mixed bag - first time they told me to do the things I was avoiding by saying what was the worst that could happen (well obv the worst thing that could happen could happen) that did not work out too well...that said I am looking forward to trying it again for the second time much older and wiser - I think cbt is something that rarely works first time and should be used either in conjunction with other things or during a anxiety relapse

hope you find the forum useful

good luck :)

When I've had cbt and my husband says what's the worst that can happen, my response always makes people just look at me because they cannot give me answer back! Xxx
