Hi

Yes I suffer with it & it does ruin your life , well just about stops it to be honest

I am still working on my own with mine , but waiting for some help

Have you been to see your GP ?

I would even though I no that may mean going out

I dont no how bad yours is

But depending , set small goals , maybe the bottom of the garden , then moving to a few doors down the street , to the end of the road & so on

Push yourself but stay in your comfort zone

Come on here everyday if it helps & tell us how you did , we will support & encourage you to keep going

No you are not alone & people do understand

Love

Hi i,m currently suffering from this and whywhy is right it just asay stops life, but only if you let it, I have found coming on here and finding people who are suffering like me reassuring. It may sound daft why would you want to learn of others misery, but it sort of gives you peace of mind about feeling alone, which happens a lot when you feel trapped in a house. I,ve been lucky and have currently begun cbt therapy, which after only 2 sessions has got me to leave the house and take a trip to a hospital app i,ve put off for months. Just learning what it is anxiety as a whole and the worst things it can do to you has made me think bring it on. Hopefully you can get help fast to and then leave the house if you cannot already. good luck x donver

I believe their are specific help groups and other help you can get if you are agoraphobic. Certainly tell your GP and ask for help available locally. Also do your own online research for more information and support. I don't see why your life should be ruined if you're agoraphobic. There are treatments available out there which should enable you to function better. Good luck.

Agoraphobia is horrible isn't it? I have never suffered by my sister has for many years. She takes meds which help and I remember years ago someone from social services would take her out walking and talk her through it. She does set herself small goals but it is very difficult for her and she gets panic attacks. I don't know the answer but I hope you find help.

i dont suffer from this but do suffer from anxiety. i thought there was no where to turn, no one for me to talk to. when i found this site posting here was the best choice i ever made! everyone is so lovely and willing to offer advice and just let you 'rant' which sometime is all you need to do. ive found it such a great comfort and hope you do to! keep positive and keep visiting! x

Hello yes this condition can ruin your life and i don't say fight it because that would be a wrong road to take.

You need to take small steps like going outside the door, perhaps walk to the gate come inside rest and give yourself some credit because i know this takes a lot of courage and strength. I was struggling to go out of the house and would walk a short distance then freeze. My legs would shake and i would feel dizzy as if i wanted to sit down.

I also felt everyone was staring at me laughing now why would anyone be bothered. But at that time i felt i had this flashing red light on my head and everyone knew i had panic attacks and anxiety.

It is best to talk and communicate with people who have walked this road but have seem some progress. This site is a God send and helps us to stay positive and gives encouragement which we all so need to make a recovery.

Big hugs

Heya seyi,

Long time no chat. How are you Hun.

Do you volunteer on this site now as a night councillor as I don't see you during the day and you don't seem to have any problems as such?

I mean it in a nice way, not in a cheesy, smoothe talking radio DJ crappy sort of way.

Lots of love Cookie xxx

Hello Heya seyi,

I generally go on the web in the evening -7pm or later. I have agoraphobia so am confined to the house most days.

Me too mate, I. Seem to have insomnia too. I don't mind sleeping all day though as I can't hear the door knock or the phone ring. Xxx

Hello Cookster

Lovely to hear from you and yes been a long time no chat smiling :) I had trouble getting on this site that is why i have not been around. Thank goodness i am back missed the people the chats etc., I do come on at night rather than in the day to be honest as i have had my daughter staying and baby staying with me as her hubby works on the oil rigs.

I am not cured from the anxiety and panic attacks just try and deal with them the best way i can. I was phased back into work which is far from easy.

I am back at the doctors next week to talk about reducing my tablets. You did make me laugh about cheesy, smooth

talking way. so glad we all have a sense of humor.

Take care big hugs
