Depends what you mean by a fast heart beat. As you now your heart rate varies from rest to hard physical activity.

At normal walking pace my heart rate is around 133 bpm. Although fairly high my doctor has told me not to worry as my blood pressure is within the normal range. By the way my resting pulse is around 105bpm.

Hope this helps

No problem and no secret I am 61yrs but I am afraid not very active which could account for high heart rate.

My GP has told me that the more exercise you take the lower your pulse rate will eventually become

Somatic complaints can appear due to stress and anxiety simple stress management techniques can help eg diaphragmatic breathing ( belly breathing)

These symptoms sound very familiar. My pulse rate can vary from 85+ to 115 while resting and maybe 130 to 160 when excercising. In my case this is down to a heart arrythmia called Atrial Fibrillation, which was diagnosed following a echocardiogram. It also leaves me permanently short of breath. I would suggest this is something to discuss with your GP, who could arrange for this very simple check to be done. It would allow you to either eliminate a possible cause or explain your rapid heart rate.

Hope this helps. Good luck,

Good to hear that your heart checked out ok. Sounds like you're going through a sensible process of elimination with your doc to rule out the "non-problem" areas.

Good luck and kind regards, Mallet-Head
