Health anxiety - realised I took the bi annual bowel tests wrong!

Gosh I worry ALL the time about my health.I had a letter to tell me to expect a kit for the bi annual bowel test.

I realised that I did it wrong last time by sticking it in rather than scraping the side so I probably had a wrong result, or would it have picked and positive result from this way?

I know I need to do this test but I'm wracked with anxiety if I need a colonoscopy... I'm totally being daft I know but I hate anything like this.

It makes total sense that doing this test is causing anxiety. For me anticipatory anxiety is the worst. Thinking about doing something is worse than actually doing it. I try to get it over with as soon as possible so that I do not have to think about it anymore. I hope you can get it over with soon.

It is a bit of a worry. I am sure a lot of people do it not as instructed and I found the scraper tool hard to use. Did you get a result from your last test? If so then you did just fine. Take your time with this one. At least you can do this at home in your own time. If you are having this as a routine test try to think of the positives.

Yes the last one was negative but I'm sure I dug it in rather than on the side ..

They have changed from a little scoop to a stick since my last test so maybe you are the same.

You suffer from anxiety, your health is merely the subject your sub conscious has "chosen".In anxious states fear is the driving factor and it may have ended up as social anxiety, fear of spiders, dogs, birds, or anything else😱..

When you realise life owes us nothing, but we have been privileged to have been given the experience.

Spend more time in the silence of nature and just observe🙏...

Finding calm is the answer....and your fears will diminish.
