I hate them, I feel dreadful scared what the day holds, scared of pollen! I don't have hayfever never have had, my irrational thoughts are I will stop breathing if the pollen gets me! I know it's ridiculous that's me.
I started the day thinking go for for it I will be fine within the hour I've gone so down hill.
I know that feeling all too well! What I tended to do (and still do when it comes back with a vengeance) is do some deep breathing and try and think of all the good things that will and could happen today rather than the bad.
Also be nice to yourself, if you have the time just take your time getting ready and put either some relaxing music on or something that lifts your mood.
I hope this helps, I know it's easier said than done.
Thanks for coming on and leaving a comment this morning, i'm sorry to hear you are feeling that horrible dread feeling as soon as you wake up. I've been there myself and at best with anxiety at least if you suffer only once or twice during the day its better than to feel it first thing in the morning as you have to work to try and turn the day around from the get go. One thing i learnt whilst doing CBT is a technique called 'Take your thought to court' it was really helpful especially when my anxiety was spiralling out of control and i was thinking things that were irrational like one common thought i had was, that my boyfreind was only dating me to make his life easier at work (we work together) so heres how it works!
Right down at the top of a piece of paper a thought you are having so for example the one you mentioned about pollen, then write how much out of 100% you feel like this will happen, or how much it is scaring you. Underneath this draw two coloums at the top of one write 'For' and at the top of the other write 'Against'. Now you can write comments on either side for and against your thought like you they would in court, but they have to be FACT! they can not be what you THINK will happen, FACT only. Once you have done this (try not to rush take your time, and you have a couple or one comment per side, write down at the bottom out of 100% how you feel about it now (hope fully you will feel better).
Hope this makes sense this really worked for me because it 1, slowed my thoughts down, 2, made me think rationally and at times it was hard to have an argument with yourself when you are staring at the facts and 3, it calmed me down.
Try it! i'm not sure if i have left anything out from the process above as it has been some time since i have done this but i'm sure you could search the net for more info about it.
