Iv`e been having some pain on the right lower side of my jaw for about a week, so I went to see my dentist this afternoon. It turns out that there`s an infection under a molar that had to be crowned because of a similar problem some years ago. He prescribed 2 types of antibiotics, & has told me that if they don`t work, then I`ll need a root canal, & if that`s not successful then I`ll have to have an extraction. I`m terrified now because the idea of having a tooth out is a nightmare for me because I`m scared that then I`ll be on the slippery slope to a full set of dentures. Has anyone else been through this recently?

Worrying news from the dentist.
Hi yes & a friend of mine
They always have to tell you the worse scenario , or maybe you asked , because I always do
But I think its very rare , that they end up pulling them out
Neither my friend & I had to
Antibiotics worked once on one tooth , then I had it again in another tooth , so had a root canal & they are fine
Same with my friend
Try not to worry , I no its hard if its a fear , but it would be rare for either of those not to work
Let us no how you go on
Love
