Early morning shakes. Please help!

I've woken up after another restless night, and 'bang' I have the shakes and nervousness. I wish this early morning pattern would stop.

I find putting a warm wash cloth on my face and wrists helps....also a long hot shower

6am and I'm awake with a bang!

Heart thumping and shaking. Still feeling jittery now.

I find sitting up and reading helps as it only makes it worse to try and go back to sleep.

I also find a hot and/or bright sunny bedroom makes it worse as I sleep much better in the winter when it's cold and dark.

Some medication causes this.

Maybe something to combat this from the GP may help.

SL :)

They are horrible, the morning shakes.

If its just anxiety and not drugs or alchohol, then, well even if it is, stop, go into the present relax, and dont fight your feelings, accept them, let them wash over you and straight out the window.

Its us that keep them, because we fight them, they are our thoughts, but just thoughts no need to act on them.

Wishing you well

I'll try to stay strong. I really will. I hate feeling like this. I've not been eating well, because of the stress.

Thank you all for your support.

Hang in there, we all know how your feeling,

keep your food intake up, I used to hate eating and got no satisfaction in it, but it does return, once you allow it to.

Deep breath let it out slowly, and if its sunny go get some sun on your face if possible. I think I will take my advice too its looks wonderfull out there in the garden.

If they are not alcohol/drug related you could ask your doctor about Propranolol. It is a beta-blocker used in the treatment of Tremor related to anxiety amongst other things. It worked wonders for me & may be of help to you. I hope you find the answer soon. It is out there and if you are honest with your GP, he/she will get to the bottom of it. If your shakes are bad, don't be palmed off with therapy sessions. we all need medical assistance at some time. I was ashamed of my shaking and used alcohol to settle my nerves. That was a bad move. In the end, Just knowing the Propranolol was there if i needed it calmed me enough as before, just the thought of the shakes, made them come on.

Fine now without them but still have a pack in the cupboard just in case.

Tim.
