I've been reading her book and listening to her audiobooks..she knew exactly what she was talking about. She really was years ahead of her time.
Anyone else read her stuff and found it helps?
I find myself laughing along as sometimes you feel she's speaking directly to you.

Hi Ashley,
Yes, we love her..........she was the best, and helped me so much, with her coping techniques. I think all CBT therapists should be taught her way of dealing with anxiety.
I love her tapes too, not heard one for 20 yrs but can remember her compassionate voice even now.
Baylien recommended her books to me. She does make her message sound very personal, I have learnt a lot from reading them. A lot of what she said reminds me of mindfulness, she was ahead of her time indeed.
I have just obtained a copy of Claire Weekes book "Hope and Help for Your Bad Nerves" and find it compelling reading. It makes a lot more sense than a lot of the stuff that's out there, and I am hopeful it will also be able to help yours truly!! You cannot and should not try to FIGHT these symptoms of anxiety, you will never win this way, only make the problem worse!!. Really ACCEPTING the negative thoughts that drift into our consciousness, but giving them no special consideration or reacting to them will eventually make them reduce and ultimately stop. Go with the flow and allow time. It probably took quite a while for your symptoms to develop, so it is not entirely unreasonable to expect this healing process might also take some time too!! Be patient and keep the faith!!
