Cluster headaches and the pain with the desperation along with depression is about as much a human can take!

Well I thought I'd finished a cycle of cluster headaches and tapering off the tablets that are meant to help stop them. These headaches are quite rare, but impact my whole life again at the moment, the pain involved is absolutely brutal, and I've had a few other ailments along the way , but this tops them all.

They often occur whilst asleep, and every nerve ending is on edge, the pain is absolutely vile, and cluster headaches are a different beast, not to be confused with migraines, doctors only can go off your notes, and often takes a neurologist to give you a diagnosis, also they give you a self injecting pen to try and stop a full blown attack.

The strangest thing about these headaches are I'm normally woken up by a dream, perhaps there's a hormone released when I'm dreaming and this set's an attack on, you start to feel hot, and then the crushing pain begins at the top of your head, and then works it way to the eyeball, it's only one side of your head, but the pressure makes your eyeball " squeak " and your nostril gets blocked, the intensity of this pain is something I can't describe, I'm a tough cookie, but this is why they are called.

" suicide headaches " the fallout and the symptoms leave you exhausted and often it's a lonely place dealing with them, I actually dread going to bed, well thanks for looking in, and anyone else who suffering along the way, take care all of you 😀

I had side of face swollen and headache and it keeps happening to me. Today, I decided to look into my habits and though the medication I take is with sip of water but on my good days it is much more water. A glass or two of water. I think when I don't have enough my brain reacts to the medicine for mental health more and when I have enough water I can balance the pressure inside my head. That with having window open for enough oxygen/air has got me though today. This is just my thought on my recurring headache or it could be side effects to medicine?

Sorry, but yours sound abnormally excruciating pain too. Is there way to cool body or head or something you can do physically?

Ah I'm sorry you're struggling at the moment, unfortunately there's very little medication available for these headaches, the last stage is having oxygen therapy at home when an attack happens, as I mentioned there's not much you can do, they often have a well known pattern and even had the nerve block injections in the base of my skull, and that didn't work either, and it's just a question on how long a cycle can last, thr problem is that because it lingers on so long you lose track of time, and often get a tension headache due to the lack of sleep, and being exhausted all day, well I hope you get some relief from your symptoms, best of luck.

Oxygen therapy sounds like good option, natural and if effective no side effects!

Cb1963 as I was no stranger to intense multiple headaches daily,

after reading your post, I understand how blessed I was in never having

experienced a cluster headache. I could barely handle the migraines as

well as contraction headaches, sometimes on my knees in pain. However,

there is no way I could have gone through what you are. I have a high pain

threshold but I could barely handle what I was given.

My thoughts are with you during these critical times. :) xx
