Howdy Black, of course always consult with a doctor about meds. I would hazard a guess that you would be okay to quit cold turkey if you have only been on it for 7 days...

I'm like you. Antidepressants didn't do me any good. The side effects outweighed the benefits. I gave them a try, taking them for several months. I went to therapy and developed a "toolbox" to deal with anxiety. The toolbox includes meditation, yoga nidra, exercise, petting my dog, going on a walk or a hike, reading a book, petting my dog, FaceTiming with my granddaughter, playing piano, etc. I still struggle with sleep, however, practicing regular meditation and yoga has helped me in this area.

It takes a good 6 weeks for full effect of antidepressants so you might hang on and see as sometimes it gets better. If you decide to stop give your doctor a call and see what he recommends. 7 days is a short time so going cold turkey probably would be fine, you might have some headaches or uneasiness for a day or two at the most I’d think. I would ask the doctor if he can give you something for sleep. Lack of sleep makes it next to impossible to cope with anxiety and anxious thoughts. xx

Hi Charlie. Thank you so much for replying. It really helps. I have decided to keep going and at least give them chance. I have managed to have a nap this afternoon which has been so nice. I will ask the doctor for something for lack of sleep. I go on Friday. Take care and thanks again xxx
