scared to eat dinner

we had chicken in our freezer. We left the freezer open accidentally like a couple centimeter overnight. The popsicles melted but the chicken still felt frozen solid. Is this chicken still safe to eat? We’re cooking it but I’m scared

if it is hard frozen, and it was only one night overnight then no way did it get warm to spoil if it its frozen hard.☺️

It seemed hard. It wasn’t squishy or anything when we touched it.

If it smells too sour or strong to you when ready to cook, then don't eat it. I hope you already cooked it and ate it I'm sure it was fine.😅☺️

yea this is the answer. thaw it, and if it smells off, toss it. It likely wont kill you even if it's a little off. Humans get by eating all kinds of things. you'll just spend a little more time in the bathroom the next day. But you can always go to the store. peace of mind is worth more than the cost of frozen chicken breasts.

Yes it's safe to eat . I understand your concern but for the chicken to become contaminated it would have to have been completely thawed and then left out for awhile

Well it should be if you are absolutely sure it was frozen. Cook it well.

I think it will be ok, but if it smells funny at all, then toss it out. It's not worth getting sick over, please buy some more if you have the money.😇😇😇😇
