I don’t want to be a Debby Downer or sound judgy , but I think some people feel they are going to get a lot more clear answers to their problems on this forum. I understand, but from what I have read , a lot of posts consist of their desperation and grief. People just reaching out for a lifeline.

This is a peer to peer forum. Can you tell us what exactly you are looking for?

There are no therapists on the site and there is no one who can or is going to try and fix others and give them 'answers to their problems'.

What we do is listen to others and validate them. This is an online forum and provides a safe place for people to talk to other who get it.

We do pass on our experiences of course as what helps us may also help others.

For anyone who needs more than this we make suggestions such as speak to a professional.

A site like this isn't for everyone so if its not what you are looking for then maybe its not for you.

There are no clear answers for anyone really if your referring to anxiety and depression. Everyone is their own mixed bag. There is no one size fits all therapy, no magic pill to take, and nobody can fix us. Only we can find our own solutions with some guidance and understanding of what our issues are. People on this site are all looking for answers to how to understand and cope, or looking for friends who understand their stuff because they have similar issues, and also have someplace they feel safe enough to talk about that which social stigma and taboo keeps most of us to suffer in silence.

Writing about problems is cathartic, and can help with healing processes, but it's up to you to do the footwork.

For me, even if I don't get any clear answers, it is comforting to know that other people are experiencing the same feelings that I am. This makes me feel less isolated.

I have to politely disagree with this statement. I think the majority of users on here have the understanding this forum is not a substitute for professional help whether it be from a psychiatrist, therapist or just anyone appropriately qualified to treat mental illness. From my experience being on here, it seems people typically only use this as an outlet for sharing their feelings and/or every day life experiences living with anxiety and depression to a group who can relate in a safe and anonymous space. Just my two cents but I think a lot of people join just for general support and to feel connected to others.
